Our group trips leave from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, but it is possible to leave from another airport as well.

2. At which airport do we arrive?

Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport.

3. How much time does it take to fly to Iran?

Direct flights from Amsterdam take 6 hours. Those with a transfer mostly take 8 hours.

4. Are there direct flights to Iran?

At this moment there are no direct flights from Netherlands to Iran.

5. The prices on the website, do they include the plane ticket?

Yes, plane tickets are included in the price.

6. With which organization does Persintravel fly?

Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines en IranAir.

7. Is it possible to change the flight times, so that we can stay in Iran shorter or longer?

Yes, you can discuss this with Persintravel via mail

8. What transportation do we use in Iran?

We travel in Iran with our own car or minivan.

1. How many people are there in a group during the trip?

3. Can we also buy our own place ticket?

1. Do you also organize individual custom made trips?

Yes, you can request a quotation for that.

2. Can I also book just part of my trip at Persintravel, for example transport, an excursion of the hotel?

Yes, that is possible.

3. Can we choose our own date of departure?

Yes, the whole trip will be designed together with you.

4. Can we decide ourselves which places we visit?

Yes, we organise custom made trips. Your wish is our starting point.

5. Can Persintravel book our hotel?

Yes, that is possible. You can book traditional guesthouses and modern hotels at our organization.

6. Can we travel with our own group to Iran?

Yes, that is possible.

7. Can we compile a trip with our private group?

Yes, that is possible. We offer custom made trips.

8. I want to book a trip at Persintravel, but I already have the flight tickets. Is that possible?

Yes, that is possible. We need to know your flight schedule in order to compile the trip in accordance with you. The arrangement does need to have at least 7 consecutive nights.

9. Do your trips start at fixed dates?

No, we organise custom made trips and you can depart any day you want.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

1. Do people in Iran speak English?

Yes, but not everyone. Approximately 1 in 5 speaks English.

2. Which language do people speak in Iran?

Persian.

3. Where can I learn the Persian language?

Persian is, partly because of the alphabet, a difficult language to learn for Dutch people. You can use the website chaiandconversation to give it a try.

4. Do we need a special plug?

Iran has the same plugs (220 volt) as in Netherlands and most European countries.

5. Can you pin in Iran?

No. Due to international economic sanctions, banking is not possible between Iran and most other countries.

6. Can you pay with creditcard in Iran?

No.

7. Do we need to take cash with us to Iran?

Yes, that is the only way to pay in Iran. We recommend to only change your money at the offices and not at the street.

8. How much money should we take when we booked a group trip?

The group trips of Persintravel are all inclusive. You don't need to bring extra money, although we do recommend to take some money. Just to be sure and in case you want to buy souvenirs.

9. How much cash should I take with me as an individual traveller?

€ 25,- per person per day should be enough for food and drinks and museums often cost € 4,-.

10. Can you buy coffee in Iran?

Yes, but not everywhere. Iran is a tea country, but in big cities you also find coffee bars.

11. Is it possible to make coffee in our van?

In our minivan we always have hot water and coffee.

12. Can men and women walk hand in hand?

No, unless you are married.

13. Can men and women kiss each other in public?

No, you are not allowed to kiss each other in public.

14. Do women need to wear a headscarf?

Yes, women are obliged to wear a hijab.

15. Are headscarfs difficult to wear?

Headscarfs in Iran are not too difficult. You can use a regular scarf and put that on your head. Do keep in mind that you shouldn't use smooth fabrics, because those will slip of your head easily.

16. Can men and women wear short pants?

No, you are not allowed to wear short pants in public.

17. How does Persintravel communicate with the travellers?

By email, phone and WhatsApp. In consultation we create a WhatsApp group.

18. How does Persintravel communicate with the travellers while we are in Iran?

Guides are available 24 hours a day. When you have a local guide, the organizers or Persintravel are always available via email, phone and WhatsApp.

19. Do the hotels have Wifi?

Yes.

20. Can we buy a sim card in Iran?

Yes, at the airport in Iran you can buy a sim card for approximately € 20,- 10GB.

21. Do I need vaccinations?

For our destinations you are not obliged to have any vaccinations.

TRAVELING WITH CAR TO IRAN

1. What do I need when travel with my own car to Iran?

Passport, visa, travel insurance, cancellation insurance, international health insurance and a Carnet de Passage.

2. Until when does my passport need to be valid?

Minimum of 6 months after departure from Iran.

3. Where do I get an international travel insurance?

You can ask this at your health insurer.

4. Where can get a visa?

You can request the visa yourself at the Iranian embassy in your country. But, regularly these are being declined when there is not Iranian travel agent in your application. We can assist you with the visa application. If you book a trip with Persintravel this is for free. If you don't book a trip we will charge you the costs we make.

5. Where can get a travel insurance and a cancellation insurance?

You can get that at many different insurance companies.

6. What is the maximum number of days for a visa?

30 days is the maximum you can stay in Iran. In case you want to stay longer, you need to extend your visa in time.

7. Where can get a Carnet de Passage?

At ADAC, a Germen roadside assistance organization.

8. Do I need a license plate?

Yes, if you want to stay in Iran for more than 10 days, you need a license plate. You can request this at the border of Iran.

9. Is the international car insurance valid in Iran? 6.9

Yes.

10. Did people travel with the car to Iran before?

Yes, in July 2019, two couples travelled to Iran with their own car (4x4).

11. Cam we travel in Iran without a guide?

Yes, you can travel without a guide. But if you are with a group of more than 4 persons, you are obliged to have a guide.

12. Is it possible to book a guide at Persintravel, also for part of our trip?

Yes, you can book a guide at Persintravel.

13. Can we park our cars in the street?

Yes, you can do that, but we recommend to park in a parking garage.

14. Can we park our cars at the hotel?

The traditional guesthouses often do not have a parking garage. Other, modern hotels often do, but not all of them.

15. Can you enter the country with an E-visa?

The rules regarding visa change all the time. At this moment you can apply for your visa online and you will get a printed visa document. You are obliged to take this with you at all time during the trip. You do not get a stamp in your passport.

1. Is a permit needed to visit Golestan National Park?

Yes, you can request that permit at Persintravel.
