Visa application

To visit Iran a visa is required. You will get this as an e-visa, which means you will not get stamps in your passport. Therefore you will not have any problems in future trips, for example to the United States. There are different ways to obtain a visa. You can get it by going to the embassy in the country of your residence, or you can get a visa on arrival in Iran. The costs of a tourism visa are € 78,-.
Because visa procedures tend to change once in a while and because recently we experienced that many visas are being declined, Persintravel decided to do this procedure for their customers.

The price of this service is included in your trip, although you will have to pay the visa itself when arriving in Iran. Are you travelling individually without any organization, but you would like to be assisted in obtaining the visa? For example because you don't know how to do it or because the visa has been denied before? We can help you with this and the costs will be € 90,-.

Practical information

Finances

The official currency is Rial. The prices are indicated with Rial but orally stated as Thoman. This is the Rial divided by ten. For example 100.000 Rial is 10.000 Thoman. Please note that it's not possible to pay by pin in Iran. Creditcards are also not accepted in most cities. If you want to bring extra money for yourself make sure it's cash. We advise you to bring € 50,- euro or dollar bills in order to easily changethem.

Clothing requirments

Women in Iran are mandated to wear non fitting clothes that does not accentuate their curves. Wearing a scarf is also mandatory. You can wear non fitted clothes till your hips with a long pants, jeans or long skirt underneath. Sandals and flip flops are permitted. Due to the hot weather we recommend you to wear cool materials like linnen. Men should wear long trousers. Short trousers are prohibited. You can wear short sleeves. Also flip flops and sandals are permitted. Both men and women should not wear any clothing that contain visible American flags. The Iranian men and women are very modern and nicely dressed. How we travel

Comfort on the road

During our trips we prefer to sleep in traditional accommodations. To get the best impression of the Persian culture, Persintravel often chooses small scale hotels. These are mostly old family houses that are transformed into guesthouses. All of them are at least three star hotels. During the individual trips of the personalized group trips, you can choose other accommodations according to your wish. Below you see a collection of our selected Persian houses where we stay during the trips.
