Our journey begins in the young and lively city capital of Iran: Tehran. Here we will visit some musea, among which are the carpet museum and the national museum. We will see the famous palaces of Golestan, multiple parks and the iconic nature bridge. In the evening we will go to Darband. Along a small river you will walk up into the mountains and the lights at the cafes and restaurants will make you as if you are in a fairy tale. To sum it up: the first days in Iran will be a mix of city, culture, nature and good food.

North of Tehran is the 9000 year old city Qazvin. In the Alborz mountains you will find the Alamut Castle. This has been a fortification for years, now it's a ruin with a spectacular view. We will also visit the old Khargan towers, Samiran castle and Lambssr castle. All of the castles are from different eras, which makes their architecture and original function variable.

We will visit Bandar-e Anzali, one the most important ports of Iran. It is also the place where Polish citizens went to when they were evacuated from the Sovjet Union. After that we will drive further to Ardabil, where we will see the complex of the Sheik Safi al-Din tomb, who is from the Safavids dynasty, which is from Kurdish and Azerbaijani ancestry. The Ardabil region is also known for her hot springs and we will visit one of them to just sit back and relax.

In this small village (only a few hundred inhabitants) the houses are built on the mountainside and because of this unique architecture the place is worldwide known and it got a place on the UNESCO world heritage list. The village is located at a high altitude and there is often fog which gives beautiful images. We will also visit Roodkhan castle, which in history has never been concurred. This proves the high standards in techniques and the strategic place of the castle.

Sareyn is known for its hot springs. The water is heated largely by and inactive volcano in the Sabalan mountain, which is Iran's second highest mountain after Damavand. Sareyn is also famous for its 'Ashe Doogh (Yogurt Soups) and its honey, which are made and sold in the local shops.

Jolfa is a small town in the utter north of Iran at the border of Azerbaijan. On the other side of the border is a city with the same name. During the time of the Sovjet Union this was the place where goods were traded. We will visit the Church of St. Mary, according to some this is the second oldest church of Christianity. Another site we visit is the St. Stepanos monastery in the mountains.

The majority of people in this province speak Turkish. We will visit the Jameh mosque, where you can see the beautiful Persian architecture. Also we will do as the locals: relax in the El Goli park.

Zanjan is known for its traditional crafts and you will find beautiful handmade knifes here, as well as sandals and jewelry, which you can admire and maybe buy in the beautiful bazar. Also we will visit the Dome of Soltaniyeh, which is one of the biggest domes in the world and it is very important for Islamic religion.

In Hamadan we visit worlds biggest water cave Ali-Sadr grot. After that we go to Ganjnameh, where you can read the centuries-old inscriptions from the time of Darius the Great. The next day we drive back to Tehran, where our round trip will end.
